8 Easy Spring-Cleaning Tips
We know a thing or two about waste, so we’ve put our reasonable experience into writing to offer up 8 helpful tips to make the job easy, fluid, and rewarding for you!
1. Pick a Day and Time in Advance; it mentally prepares you
Setting aside a day or two to really tackle the job thoroughly, you will truly feel like you have a new home. If it’s been years since your home has had a good spring clean, it can feel overwhelming for sure, but don’t put it off another year. If committing a day or two isn’t possible, set aside a couple of 2- 3 hour blocks where you can make the magic happen.
2. Prepare a Spring Clean Checklist
Create a list of everything you want to get through and chunk it down. You could go with the snowball effect or opt for the avalanche.
- Snowball – start with the smaller, easier tasks, they help you feel like you are in momentum and give you a run-up to the bigger list items.
- The Avalanche – tackle the tough stuff first and get the bulk of the list done up front. The smaller tasks seem easier after that!

3. Prepare Everything you need to have on Hand
When will I learn? When I finally buy the right tools for a job, and it takes two seconds, not ten minutes? It’s worth the investment guys. Pre purchase or prepare your mops, buckets, sponges, scrubbing brushes, clothes, cleaning products. When you get started, you don’t want to have to stop to run to the shops for forgotten items. Set yourself up for maximum flow.
4. Consider converting an Empty Room into an Home Office
Well, to be fair, after what happened during Covid, you’ve probably ticked this one off.
- Pros: All-day snacks, lunch times showers, ample time to do the dish washing and laundry.
- Cons: too much snacking, not enough social engagement.
If you’ve been toying with the idea, why not use this as an opportunity to clean out that old spare room or storage room, and give yourself a study or workspace.
5. Call in Help from Friends
If you have large and heavy items to move, make sure you call in help in advance so that you get through the tasks desired without overexertion or injury. We get by with a little help from our friends.

8. Don’t Forget the Backyard
